Paulus Sarwoto got his bachelor's degree from Gadjah Mada University in 1990, majoring in English Language and Literature. In 2002, he pursued his master's studies about Comparative Literature in Louisiana State University - Baton Rouge. In 2013, he continued his doctoral degree in the Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies of Monash University, Australia. He currently serves as a lecturer in Sanata Dharma University.
