SURVEY POLA KONSUMSI MAKANAN CEPAT SAJI DAN PEMERIKSAAN KADAR KOLESTEROL SISWA 3 SMU DI YOGYAKARTA

Abstract
An example of economic growth in Yogyakarta is development numbers of new shopping malls which completed with many fastfood restaurant that provide variance of menu, facilities, and cozy environment. This economic development also make changes on social and economy condition including on young generation or teenagers. Teenage anthusiasm on fastfood restaurants could change their lipid consumption pattern which feared to elevate total cholesterol level in the body. Result of this research showed that 33.68% of respondents liked fastfood menu and 92.63% of respondents consumed it d 3 times/week. The average of detected total cholesterol is 162.87 mg/dL which is in normal range of cholesterol level. It showed that teenages food consumption pattern was not give negative influence to blood cholesterol level yet. Some of respondents had low cholesterol level, which was under 130 mg/dL. Few of respondents showed high blood cholesterol level, which was over 200 mg/dL. This level of cholesterol could increase risk of degenerative disease as coronary heart disease. There is need of balanced nutrition socialization to young generation to increase awareness and care for food consumption to reduce risk of degenerative disease in early age.
