Abstract


The tittle of research is An influence of Supervisors Personal dan Social Competency towards Soft Skills Development of grade VIII Students of Junior High Schools in Oebobo Sub-District Kupang City. Aim of this Research is ti underline significancy of influence of Supervisors Personal and Social Competency toward Soft Skills Development of grade VIII Students of Junior High Schools in Oebobo Sub-District Kupang City. Method employed throughout this research was quantitative, whilst data was collected through instrument spread and documentation. Population of research counted as 765 people out of three different Junior High Schools, which where SMP Negeri 2 Kupang with 703 people, SMPK St. Yoseph with 48 people, and SMP Santy Karya with 14 people. Research sample counted as 132 people which was determined by random sampling which generated a sample consisting of 70 people from SMP Negeri 2, 48 people from SMPK St. Yoseph, and 14 people from SMP Santy Karya.
Research result points that: 1) Statistic test upon personal competency (X1) reveals t as 22,980 with, 000significance. As the significance (,000) is lower than the determined alpha (,005), threrefor H0 is rejected. This implies significance of superfisors personal competency (X1) variable toward soft skills development. 2) Statistic test upon Social competency (X2) reveals t as 36,453 with, 000 significance. As the significance (,000) is lower than the determined alpha (,005), threrefor H0 is rejected. This implies significance of superfisors Social competency (X2) variable toward soft skills development. 3) ANOVA test sugest an F of 783,351 with a significance of,000. As the significance (,000) is lower than the determined alpha(,005), therefore H0 is rejected. This implies significance of both variables Simultaneously toward soft skills development. Contribution of variable X1 and X2 toward soft skills development ( Y) is 92,4% while the remaining 7,6 % is contributed by other factors.
