FENOMENA PENDETA TOXIC DI DALAM PELAYANAN GEREJA

Abstract

The background of the phenomenon of the characteristics of toxic pastors is the rise of pastors (servants of God) who abuse their priesthood to manipulate the congregation; even in more extreme cases, they dare to sexually abuse their own congregation. Even though they are people who are equipped with good knowledge and a spiritual life, Therefore, this study aims to describe and find out what the impact of the attitude of toxic pastors is and how efforts should be made so that pastors can control their own spiritual and physical lives. So, in this case, the researcher uses the literature study method, which shows that toxic pastors have a detrimental impact on the church and congregation. To overcome this, they must be ready to give up their lusts, maintain priestly holiness, and always have vigilance of faith. Keywords: God's Servant, Lust, Congregation, Role of God's Servant, Toxic

Abstrak

Latar belakang fenomena adanya karakteristik pendeta toxic adalah maraknya pendeta (hamba Tuhan) yang menyalahgunakan keimamatan mereka untk memanipulasi jemaat, bahkan pada kasus yang lebih ekstrem mereka berani melakukan pelecehan seksual terhadap jemaatnya sendiri. Padahal mereka adalah orang-orang yang dibekali dengan pengetahuan dan kehidupan spiritualitas yang baik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengetahui apa dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh sikap pendeta toxic dan bagaimana seharusnya upaya agar para pendeta dapat mengontrol kehidupan rohani dan jasmani mereka sendiri. Maka, dalam hal ini peneliti menggunakan metode studi literatur yang menunjukkan hasil bahwa para pendeta toxic memiliki dampak yang merugikan bagi gereja dan jemaat, untuk mengatasi hal tersebut mereka harus dengan sikap siap harus menyampih hawa nafsu mereka, menjaga kekudusan keimamatan, dan selalu memiliki kewaspadaan iman.
