Author Guidelines

Guidelines in Bahasa Indonesia (click hereStep-by-step guidelines for submitting an article please (click here)

  1. Manuscripts published in Divinitas: Jurnal Filsafat dan Teologi Kontekstual must have a strictly scientific character.
  2. The submitted manuscript has not been previously published.
  3. It is possible to publish manuscripts in Indonesian and English
  4. The length of the manuscript, including text, footnotes, and bibliography, should be around 3,500-5,000 words (counting spaces).
  5. Manuscripts must be written in Times New Roman font, with 12-point font, and footnotes in 10-point font. The template for the manuscript is available on the website of Divinitas: Jurnal Filsafat dan Teologi Kontekstual (or click here).
  6. Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Arabic, and other texts (in the non-Latin alphabet) must be set in proper characters, using Unicode fonts.
  7. Transliteration of ancient foreign languages  (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Arabic, and their Non-Latin Alphabets) must follow the academic style using The SBL Handbook of Style, Second Edition. (Atlanta, GA: SBL Press 2014) 55–67.
  8. When citing a Hebrew or Aramaic text, generally only the consonant text is presented, with vocalizations given only if they are considered important to the issue at hand.
  9. Transliteration should be provided, at least the first occurrence of Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Arabic, etc. and, must be accompanied by a translation of its meaning into the language used in the text (Indonesian or English).
  10. Citation of ancient texts in the original language should be limited to words or phrases that are important to the argument being made. The author is expected not to quote Bible passages that are too long.

Catatan umum: Istilah yang digunakan dalam bahasa Inggris disesuaikan dengan kaidah Bahasa Indonesia, misalnya:

  • “edited by” menjadi “diedit oleh”
  • “trans.” menjadi “terj.”
  • “Translated by” menjadi “Diterjemahkan oleh”
  • “eds.” tidak digunakan dan hanya digunakan “ed.” saja (Bahasa Indonesia tidak mengenal akhiran “s” sebagai penanda jamak)
  • “et al.” menjadi “dkk.”
  • “and” menjadi “dan”
  • “PhD Diss.” menjadi “Disertasi”
  • “Thesis” menjadi “Tesis” atau “Skripsi”
  • Penulisan tanggal “Month Day, Year” (“May 12, 2023”) menjadi “Tanggal Bulan Tahun” (“12 Mei 2023”)

Penulisan tanda baca (titik, koma, kolon, apostrof, kurung), cara penulisan huruf (Kapital/kecil, miring/tegak) dan urutan penulisan tidak diubah. It is highly recommended to use citation manager applications such as Zotero or Mendeley.

Apabila Anda mereferensi pada sebuah buku untuk pertama kali dalam tulisan Anda, Anda harus menuliskan keterangan buku secara lengkap disertai dengan halaman yang spesifik yang dirujuk. Anda tidak diperkenankan memberikan referensi pada FOOTNOTE tanpa ada rujukan halaman yang jelas.

Di dalam FOOTNOTE tuliskan halaman secara spesifik. Di dalam DAFTAR PUSTAKA, tuliskan keseluruhan halaman dari artikel yang dirujuk. Untuk artikel yang dipublikasikan secara online tuliskan URL atau nama databasenya. Apabila artikel tersebut mempunyai DOI (Digital Object Identifier) URL yang DOI inilah yang harus Anda tulis. URL dari DOI yang diawali dengan https://doi.org/ adalah yang utama yang harus Anda tuliskan. URL dan DOI harus tertaut dengan laman sumbernya.

Untuk artikel yang mempunyai dua sampai dengan tiga nama penulis, Anda harus menuliskan semua namanya di FOOTNOTE yang pertama dan di DAFTAR PUSTAKA.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
