Umi Lestari

Umi Lestari is a writer, researcher, lecturer, and film critic. She is currently a lecturer at the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara in Indonesia. Her work focuses on the history, politics, and aesthetics of Indonesian cinema, particularly during the 1950s. She has been involved in various film-related projects and festivals. Umi Lestari holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and a Master's degree in Cultural Studies from Universitas Sanata Dharma. She is also a published author, having written "Biang Kerok Kenikmatan: Nawi Ismail dalam Sinema Indonesia" (Footnote Press, 2023).
