Abstract

Pediatri patient is one of the target groups of Sistem Kesehatan Nasional 2009. Pediatri patients were susceptible to disease and sometimes got treatments that provided a variety of dosage forms of drugs. Compounded prescriptions which were pediatri patients got could increase a risk of medication error. Its because a lot of risk in compounding processes.

Aim of this study was to determine the pattern of compounded prescriptions on inpatient pediatri patients. Specific aim of this study was to observe the relationship between compounded prescription patterns with age of pediatri.

This study was analytical observational with retrospective cross sectional design. Sampling methods used non-purposive sampling and sample size based on cross-sectional designs which were obtained a total of 100 medical records. Data analyzed in descriptive and bivariable statistic with Chisquare.

The result showed that compounded prescriptions on inpatient pediatri patients were 73% and pulveres dosage form were more dominant. There was a statistically significant relationship (p<0.05) between the compounded prescribing pattern with the age of the pediatri patients with OR = 14 (95% CI = 4.84 to 40.9).

Keywords: compounded prescription patterns, pediatri, medication error.
