PENGEMBANGAN PERKULIAHAN PERSPEKTIF GLOBAL DENGAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING

Abstract


The study aims at discovering whether the application of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Model encourages the learning participation and achievement of PGSD students of fourth semester, academic year 2011/2012, Sanata Dharma University, in Global Perspective course.

An observation was conducted to gain knowledge of their level of commitment in composing group papers and presentation using inspiring, creative, and communicative media, their activity in class discussion and other assignments. An evaluation on the students learning process based on the preset indicators was carried out to find the students learning achievemnts. The preset indicators include a competence to identify, to analysis, to find a solution over global problems faced by the humanity, and to apply the global perspective development in elementary schools. The measuring instruments include papers, assignments, pre-test, post-test, mid-test, and final test.

The research findings show that the application of PBL in Global Perspective course encourages students learning participation and achievement. All preset indicators are fulfilled beyond expected target.
