Abstract
Experimental design employed in this research was completely randomized design (CRD), withindependent variablewas the type of soil that consisted of regosol soil, alluvial soil, and latosolsoil. Overally, this study comprised two groups of experiments in which the first group used the planting medium without Nopkor, and the second group used growing media with Nopkor. Each treatment and control groups consisted of 3 replications that weregrown in pots. The observed variable were plant height, stem diameter, and number of leaves. It was observed also the plant resistance to pests and diseases. The experiment was conducted from October 2013 to Februari 2014.
The results showed that the height, diameter and leaves number of each variety in each soil type qualitatively have different values. The growth pattern was fluctuated each week. During the first week till fourth week the growth of all varieties was slow because of the adaptation process, after which each variety in each soil type showed varying development. However, the different growth of all plants in each soil type was not significant statistically. Nopkor additions to the growing media was qualitatively accelerate growth of vines of all varieties, but statistically these was not significantly different. All plants had beed attacked by pests and diseases with different intensity. Varietiesof Probolinggo Super, Probolinggo Blue, and King Bestari had relatively low resistance.
It was concluded that the type of soil and Nopkor did not effect the growth of varieties of Vitis vinifera. It is estimated there are other facto rs that aremore dominantthan soil types and Nopkor.
Keywords: regosol, alluvial, latosol, growing grapes, varieties of smart, Jestro Ag86, Probolinggo Blue, Yellow Kediri, Probolinggo Super, and Alfonso Lavale.
